How to build a team

Being in the dental field requires multiple skill sets. Not only do you have to be a professional at dentistry but you are also creating and running a business. Leaders in Dentistry wanted to share some helpful tips in creating a healthy team environment.

  1. Clear expectations

It is important that there are clear expectations for each team member. When you have clear expectations everyone knows the standard you have set and are accontable to reach that standard. When you communicate clear expectations you now have weight to share with that team member specific encouragement or concern. Not all dentist offices are the same so creating clear boundaries makes open communication much easier.

  2. Open communication

Asking questions to your team members such as, "If your boss were to ask you one question what would you want them to ask?", "What is one thing you wish your boss would know about you?", "How can I win your trust?" These are questions that open up communication and create a deeper team aspect.
